no, I really enjoyed it. Even though about halfway through I said it was a taxi driver

We both liked and have set the recorder to get the whole series, as we will be out next Sunday and probably quite a lot of Sundays during August.
It even sent me off to re-read the early full length novels to check up on how many cameos were in the original
Extremely enjoyable. Will be watching them all!![]()
BSRIPN (Officially full of it..)
There's only going to be 3 (this series). My verdict - idea not bad, acting could've been better.Extremely enjoyable. Will be watching them all!![]()

People who live in glass houses should undress in the dark.
I sort of enjoyed it, but it reminded me a bit of Doctor Who.
I knew who it was the moment he started to muse who could have been doing this, what sort person would have common contact with all the dead.

I thought it was brilliant!
Yeah, it did have that kind of feel. So I was not surpried when it said it was written by Moffat (Dr Who current producer/writer). Probably a experiment by the BBC.I sort of enjoyed it, but it reminded me a bit of Doctor Who.

Enjoyed it for what it was. Will probably watch again, and I don't watch much telly.
While on the subject (of TV) the series on cycling on BBC 4 was rather good too. I really envied the guy getting on to his custom made £4000 bike.
Now that was an excellent series. Was glued to the TV watching that. Especially the custom bike episodeWhile on the subject (of TV) the series on cycling on BBC 4 was rather good too. I really envied the guy getting on to his custom made £4000 bike.

Oh! Ha ha! That was the only bit where I sat moaning about why the hell had they done that, how it was so blatant and entirely didn't fit with the rest of the programme, could have been so much more subtle and that it looked like an ad and was really naffI thought it was terrible!

Enjoyed it a lot, and for the first time ever actually appreciated the presence of Watson and think he's a valueable charicter opposed to a disposeable sidekick.
Mr. Holmes sadistic streak also raised eyebrows, tourtureing the dying man - wasn't expecting that at all.
Atavar - Adjective - One who, in reaction to any news or statement, knee-jerks in extreme manner.
"Did you see that Atavar? He knee-jerked so hard its a wonder his shoes aren't in orbit."
Really enjoyed it too, will be watching the rest of them!
I enjoyed it too. Thought it was a great twist on the original. Thought the acting was pretty good and I've liked Cumberbatch in other stuff he's done.
Did feel a bit Dr Who in style. I sort of looked for it after seeing Moffat's name in the opening titles. Didn't do it any harm IMO.
I'll be watching the rest for sure.
Cheers
David
Sorry if this is a senior moment and I'm repeating a thread.
I saw the film with SWMBO and thought it awful. A sort of Victorian James Bond and with no resemblance whatever to the Holmes we know and love - an action man in Victorian costume.

Brilliant, loved it when they walked into 221b Baker street and it was just as it was![]()
