My Website. Take Two. Feedback Please,

    Hi All

I have redesigned my website. Any feedback would be great for helping me improve any parts of it.

    Thanks

Re: My Website. Take Two. Feedback Please,

Hate to say this but it is still *really* slow... took about 30 secs to get to the site, then each pic is 5-10 seconds except the smaller ones which are 2-3 secs. They are pretty big pics, often 6-700k which isnt massive but I dont think is really necessary, although Im surprised some of them take quite this long to load.

Also as many of them are so big they dont fit on my screen, I cant see the whole pic at once, which kind of defeats the object. The Next button is at the bottom too so its scrolling every page to get to the next pic.

Anyone else like to comment, as I feel *realy* guilty being the only one saying nehative stuff to poor old James lol

    Hi

on my system it sings along - front page opened in less than 4 seconds - each thumbnail opened almost immediately

although I would agree with erm in that the pictures do need to be slightly smaller to help with navigation

nice use of WP and NG Gallery

    Thanks Guys

Yes, the pictures are a tad large. If you click on the menu on the right, it loads them in a slideshow which i think is about the right size. I will resize them (luckily next gen does this easily within wordpress) and see if i can get them to the right size.

Just out of interest, what resolution monitors are you using? It's difficult these days to design a website allowing for the plethora of screen resolutions! I have 1280 x 800 at home, but have a dual screen setup at work with both monitors displaying 1600 x 1280. Maybe I need to check websites at home to get a better idea.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

I'm 1280x800 and they seemed a tad too large

Re: My Website. Take Two. Feedback Please,

My monitor is 1280 x 800, but once you take into account people have toolbars top and bottom, tabs etc you do not get to use all that space.

I did try the slideshow but personally prefer to select what I want to see at the rate I want to see it, just a personal preference.

EDIT: jyust checked my screen size and if I eliminate all the toolbars, URL space, tabs etc I am left with a height of 620 pixels rather than 800.

The only thing that turns me off slightly is the Home Page.
Where do I go first – Random Photography, Recent Photography, Welcome Photography.
I'm a simple soul and like a lot of clarity.
Having grumbled a little, I loved the photography once I settled down and didn't have much trouble with opening times or sizing.
A lot of hard work there, nice site.
