At the moment, they seem to Bob. I don;t recall hearing ofany issues with any of the recent Nikon DSLRs but there have been issue after issue with Canon DSLR releases recently. I'm not sure what's happening to their quality control, but they're giving Toyota a run for their money.Aye, and Nokin get it right, first time - every time?! The actual issue isn't something that bothers me, I have to say.

Whilst I don't want to get into the whole Nikon - Canon thing, Canon do seem to be having many many issues of late, but lets not forget some of the Nikon howlers of the past.... D70 focus, battery charging issues, and the "my D3000 is a brick" fiasco. Canon tend to make more firmware related - read "easily fixable once known about" issues - whereas Nikon seem to make more "oh dear we need to recall all these cameras" issues.
Despite everything, Nikon and Canon are both damn fine camera systems.... it's just that Canon is better .... <cheeky wink>!!!!!!!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most
Owning a camera does not make you a photographer. It makes you a person who owns a camera. And, if the authorities are to be believed, a pedophile, a terrorist, and a pervert.
Pffy nay a halt more like a hicup the fix is already out:
Firmwire Update updated![]()
And yah Nikon do seem to have more recall than Canon (I bet that darn canon marketing department is behind the firmwire "fixes" that are needed sometimes - esp when they only open up new options with the camera rather than fixing a specific fault)
A software fix for a complex piece of kit turned around in a day? That'll be fully regression tested then
Probably a quick risk based approach to unit testing by the developers and maybe a quick UAT then punted out the door to see what happens.
Wish I could get away with stuff like that![]()

It had better not, Nick. Both of us have upgraded and there's no going back. The actual issue isn't something that bothers me, I have to say.
