Who is the moderator? It seems pathetic you can't actually ask to get help to track photographers on this site. Especially abroad. It is after all covered in IPC advertising.

There is also the for sale forum.

I was just wanting to pay a Malta based photographer a modest fee for a simple job. Now sorted, however, through the usual corporate channels.

    Why, Sebastian?

    Er, it's an IPC site...

There is also the for sale forum.

Oh, dear. I take it you lot are The Moderators?

In answer to your question, I think it is pathetic that the forum can't suggest a Malta based photographer...[ Post editted to remove commercial content ]. A complete amateur would do. It is a pretty harmless service, surely?

A couple of years ago I needed the same sort of service on Nevis, if I remember, and I got some replies.

My point about IPC raking in the advertising on this site was simply to point out that this is not a pure and unsullied social media outlet, but one with a commercial purpose.

Re the sales on this site, I am sure there used to be a for sale bit for second hand stuff. Maybe, I'm mistaken.

Lastly, I think it is quite rude of you not to notify me that you had twice deleted my posts. I had no idea I was transgressing.

Commercial for IPC. Not the forum users.

You're not mistaken. It was removed after being persistently abused

Well, yeah. Its a business, they dont just give us a playground for free. But its *their* business, not ours, so we cant sell/offer our stuff/services here.

Benchista is, so am I and Hotblack who just edited your post. As has been said all our names are at the bottom of the page.

If you read the Forum Rules, you'll find that commercial posts are not allowed. That is why your original posts were removed.

A couple of years ago I needed the same sort of service on Nevis, if I remember, and I got some replies.
    ? Not here you didn't

IPC own the forums, if they wish to place advertising on their site them I'm sure that will allow themselves to do so.

Commercial posts by others, as has been pointed out, if not allowed.

I'm sure if you approached IPC regarding placing some advertising on their websites they would be more than happy to talk to you.

Re the sales on this site, I am sure there used to be a for sale bit for second hand stuff. Maybe, I'm mistaken.
Once, long ago in the mist of time... But it was closed due to abuse.

Lastly, I think it is quite rude of you not to notify me that you had twice deleted my posts. I had no idea I was transgressing.
Perhaps, the person who removed your post was also dealing with other things. We are all volunteers here (apart from a few AP staff) and some of us have other stuff to do as well.

    Re: Malta??? What's happening??

Sebastian, I've not touched your posts. I believe a member of AP's staff might have. A PM should be forthcoming about it - we do try to.

The For Sale board was removed because of abuse, sadly.

Commercial? Yes, it's run by a commercial organisation, but it's not a site for photographers or anyone else to punt or solicit their services FOC - that's actually part of it being commercial... the IPC advertising pays for the site, which seems fair enough. But in all honesty, I don't think it's "pathetic" that you shouldn't be able to turn up after a long absence and try to get something for nothing, sorry.

    Re: Malta??? What's happening??

However you try to rationalise this, I was simply trying to find names of some British or Maltese photographers, ideally amateur, who might want an assignment and earn a modest fee. The job was not worth sending from London, so it would have been scrapped. I thought I was spreading a little joy on the forest floor of the photographers' economy.

Anyway, sorry and it won't happen again. Please delete my log-in.

Ooh, you're all heart... nothing to do with you fulfilling a brief in order to gain financial rewards for yourself and/or your employer/client then.

Spooky, innit. There's usually at least one of us down the cobblers getting our jackboots resoled.

I picked them up for you. They wanted another £23 for the extra nails, I told them that you'd 'speak' with them later.
