    Bristol airport 5=369kb

dropped my daughter of the weekend so thought i would have a go at airplanes

one thing i did not think about was the perimeter fence, so improvised and stood on car roof for some shots and getting a location was not that easy either and in the two hrs i was there the police patrolled the perimeter three times, but i was not arrested under the terroism act, but i was getting some strange looks from public

A great set of different aircraft images. I'm surprised you weren't challeged by security, though the co-pilot in the light aircraft ( 3 ) does seem to be giving you plenty of attention!

    .. I'm surprised you weren't challenged by security, ...

I take it that you haven't visited the aircraft viewing area at Manchester Airport?
It's complete with carpark, entrance fee, shop selling VHF monitors etc., and has raised mounds to give the visitors a better view over the boundary fence.

Nice set, Bob, I especially like the last - great sense of movement.

That's all very well but what does Ken Rockwell have to say on the matter?

You really nailed that Fokker in the last one. Perfect shutter speed for the right amount of prop blur.

thank you all, it was a bit of learning experience and fully intend to go back again, found a perfect spot if they were landing from the other direction to catch smoke from the tyres

I can remember back in the early 70s when my dad would take me to RAF Thurleigh to see the testing of the Harrier prototypes. We where approached by guards and they did tell us to move on, but they told us where we could get a better view! My dad got a great shot of a tethered Harrier
