    Google street view

I see that there is now almost full cover of UK and much of western Europe, exceptions seem to be Eire, Belgium and Germany, (have their governments banned it?) while Portugal is still patchy. Of points further east, only parts of Czechoslovakia appear.

Rural parts of Spain, Italy and France seem to only have major roads covered

Australia, New Zealand and Japan show as do most of USA and the suthern parts of Canada, a few spots in Mexico and Alaska.

    [nitpick]
Another thing I noticed is that you can often see the joins between shots when you zoom in and pan round, look at the eaves of houses, fences or walls for breaks in horizontal lines, sometimes horizons and cars too.(there's one right down the front corner of my house!)[/nitpick]

    clicky

Look at me roofline, less obvious at the front wall and pavement kerbstone. I can date it within a few days, to around April 20th last year, by the Wisteria in flower and it looks like a rose just showing colour on the trellis

Having said that it's still quite a good system if you're nosy about where other people live!!
    Cheers MIKE

Bit of a hoot that the village near Milton Keynes that made such a fuss last year is fully covered. So they made an issue of Google exercising its lawful rights had the press and television decend on them with maximum exposure and are now the first place I look when they are published.

These cars look as if they've been in a weird crash

And this must have been taken on a Tuesday before May last year. Tuesday 'cos the green recycling bin is out, our windows were replaced last May and the shed is no longer there in the back garden either. March time maybe? There's crocuses in our garden and daffs over the road.

    Cheers

Nor me - but I'm not there because of the layout. Both of my neighbours are. The pictures were taken sometime after 11am on a summer Friday. Leaves on trees and emptied wheely bins are the clues.

So how do you take action against Google when they have driven down a private road where access is to authorised vehicles only, but they have clearly trespassed to get their images? (applies to a relative in my family)

It would have to be under some privacy law (if one exists to cover it) as you have to show damage to sue for tresspass.

    Best one yet?

Try rotating this one, West Midlands, Cradley Heath area. It appears on the next frame west as well.

    Re: Google street view

Last time I looked at Google maps my village was a grainy aerial shot, of very low res, and now my house is on it.
I was at work, but I wonder who's car it is in my drive in front of my wife's?
And that guy in my driveway?

If only these workmen would turn around, they'd find the giant pliers they've lost.

As it was, the transdimensional pliers tracked me all the way down Whitehall Road, but I managed to give them the slip when I turned into Lower High Street.

When the police stopped me a couple of years ago, they suggested this picture...

might be very useful to terrorists. Funny then, how on Google Street View, I can do
    this.

Tulips are out in my flowerpots, and the antkilling powder is already in place. At least the wheely bins and recycling boxes are tidy!

Neither the road thay my parents live in, nor the road where my brother live, and on street view; both are stort cul-de-sacs. The road where I live is also a short-ish cul-de-sac but that is on streetview along with a dodgy person walking up or down my driveway depending on which angle you look at, presumably to post a flyer through the door

Yup, the lad posting "flyers" through the letterboxes in the road where I live, for one. Must be many others caught in dead-ends where the car filming them has got them one way going up the road, and then again on its way out
