I do not know how I would approach the new machine (photographically or other wise ), the old machine, I think I would concentrate on some of the controls or perhaps the tool rest (?). Open the lens up wide and play with shallow depth of focus, black and white, grain, that sort of thing.

I like the last shot with the swarf flying.

The sepia treatment works nicely with the first shot, but, as has been suggested, a more imaginative viewpoint with restricted depth of field would be an improvement perhaps.

I think there's a whole genre in recording old machinery, which is part of an industrial heritage. If it is for this purpose then arty shallow DOF ideas don't really apply. But there are visual art possibilities too where they could be very good.
Honestly don't know what to do with the modern monstrosity. Wait 50 years and repeat above I think.
Having said that I can see one pic in the area of those orange handles where 4 are off and one is on. Only I'd turn the on one off and turn the next to it on. Sorry if that causes meltdown.

Yeh, would be nice to see some detail on the dials maybe. Sepia toning works nicely tho.
Second shot looks like it could be in a machine auction catalogue - sorry!
Love the third shot. Good colour, nice movement on the head and swarf flying too.
    Good stuff!

Thanks for comments - note to Health and Safety - the guard was replaced after the swarf shot - honest.
