Not had the pleasure of a safari myself, but suspect that you would ideally need a longer telephoto than 90mm.

The 28-90 lens that the camera is fitted with would be OK-ish for general photography, although I would be wanting a wider (shorter focal length) lens than a 28 on that camera. I would be inclined to look for a Canon XXXD camera fitted with its kit lens and then supplement that with a longer reach lens for your safari.

    Hope you enjoy it!

You will definitely need a longer lens for your wildlife shots. It is possible to rent lenses and there are adverts for this in AP magazine sometimes. You need at least a lens that reaches to 200mm which with the crop factor on your camera would effectively give you 320mm and you could also look at adding a 1.4X converter which would make the reach even longer but at the expense of some light - that shouldnt be a problem on safari.
Hope you have a GREAT time!!
