    Commission Sales through Ffordes

Does anyone have any experience, or guidance, on selling kit through ffordes?

I have a fair number of items to sell amounting to a full outfit of kit with a value of several grand. I know that I could perhaps make more using eBay and avoid the 20% commission payable to ffordes for their services, but I’m not sure that I want to go through the hassle of setting up each individual item.

I’d appreciate any advice about experiences, good or otherwise, that anyone on here may have had with them in the past.

I’m only considering using ffordes because they are close enough to me to make it worth my while going over to the mainland to deliver a load of stuff to them in one go.

Naturally, when I have heard opinions here, I will contact Ffordes themselves for advice on the logistics of making the sale(s) go smoothly.

Any contributions on here before that will be gratefully accepted.

    Cheers

    Dave

Ffordes and all the dealers realise much better prices for ordinary (non-collectable) good second-hand equipment than you'll get selling privately or, in particular, on eBay. So in that light the deduction of 20% commission is not too bad - what you actually get could be the same as you'd have made selling it yourself - but without all the hassle.

Of course you may have to wait a long time for it to sell - at least with eBay it's all over in a week or so.

ebay won't charge you much less! You'll have to pay to list it, then 10% of the sale price, then fee's to paypal too!!

    I know what I'd do......
