    Laser printing

    Hi all
I possess a pretty good B/W laser printer and was wondering if it was suitable for printing high res image files, and if so, what sort of paper is suitable. Unsurprisingly glossy for inkjet was not a good choice!

    many thanks

You can print whatever resolution files you want... but it won't print like a photo printer on photographic paper.

    Re: Laser printing

Did you visit the Ilford stand at FoI?

They were showing off their laser printed B&W prints which, from what I could understand, use a laser to expose the traditional silver based photo paper (from a scan of the film negative or from a jpeg) and the paper is then developed in the normal way. (Similar to Fuji Archive?) Turn-round was quoted at a few days.

jpegs can be uploaded via the Internet for printing, but I when I checked it out, I failed to find the price list for their service, and I didn't want to "join" yet another website just to obtain pricing info, and have yet more junk email.

The demo examples I saw looked quite good, but then they always do! The real test is how they deal with my images.
