Sorry I should have posted this yesterday.
Ilford have their "Ilford Multigrade Papers" book for sale at FoI for £1. 50 pages of good quality printing on decent paper, lots of advice, and a decent primer for anyone using traditional wet printing.

Is it available from the generally, Malcolm, or is it a show-only special? It sounds like the sort of thiong I ought to get...

Seeing as I've had a darkroom since the '50s, and I still found stuff to learn about testing the safety of a safelight etc., it strikes me as a near essential for anyone serious about B&W wet printing.
Its reference is "Catalog #192 7328"; Ilford Multigrade Papers, A Manual For The Darkroom.
50 pages of almost A4.
Despite being printed in England, it's not dated, and the telephone numbers are in the USA & Canada, it looks as though it was aimed at the North American market. I'd give their sales office at Mobberley, Cheshire a call.

Thanks, Malcolm, I will give them a ring!

Phoned them, hopefully a copy will be heading my way as son as they find one, or the others reappear from FoI.
Many thanks for the heads-up!

If its the book I'm thinking of (I've got a copy), then it is indeed an informative publication. Takes the mystery out of the whole process (where's the fun in that!)

BTW, if you're serious about your trad printing, have you read 'The Goldfinger Craftbook'? It's an interesting little volume with some good (albeit dated in some cases)advice about darkroom work in general. You can download the PDF here http://www.silverprint.co.uk/pdf/Goldfinger.pdf If fibre base is your forte, read the bit about archival processing.

Well, I'm not serious about it yet, but I've just downloaded it and I might well be by the time I finish reading it.
Thanks for the link!
