Canon Powershot A430 - or is it?

I have a Canon Powershot A430 which, according to the specification, should have a 4x optical zoom lens. This is stated on the front of the camera (top r/h corner), but the lens size on the actual lens is 5.4-17.3mm, which is only 3.2x. Also, according to the specifications, there should be a "My Camera" option in the Menu, which there isn,t. There are microphone holes on the top plate, but it does not appear to record sound with the video.

What do you think? Has this camera been put together wrongly, is it, in fact, an A420, which has a 3.2x zoom, no sound and no "My Camera" option? I bought the camera secondhand, at a good price, so I am not that bothered; it takes good snapshots, but it has me intrigued.

Re: Canon Powershot A430 - or is it?

My daughter has a "genuine" A430 which does have 4x zoom and sound recording, so looks like yours is either a mis-build (unlikely) or someone had made it from broken remains of other Canon Powershots
Too many cameras, too many lenses.......
