    Refreshing look to AP

Nice to see the changes that have been made to our favourate magazine (and here it comes), but, can I make a plea for the a reduction in the 'white on black' text which seems to have increased significantly in the latest issue. When reading the mag., in strong natural light, reflection has always been a problem because of the (good) quality of the paper used. Trying to read white text with light refected from the background is a pain. OK I know that it could be read indoors away from a window or in a shady room but hey, a little less white text would help a lot. - John

I haven't bought my copy yet, but surely the use of lots of black ink MUST be bad for the environment?

Trying to read white text with light refected from the background is a pain.
Looking at the letters pages (usual black text on white background) right next to the Backchat piece (white text on black), somewhat to my surprise I actually found the latter significantly easier to read than the former.

I can't account for that - it's the opposite of what I would generally expect, and certainly to my experience with reading text on a VDU, but there it is.

OTOH, I did find the light grey text on dark grey background in one of the panels in the A850/D3X comparison test rather difficult - I needed a mgnifying glass as well as the reading glasses for that one.

Otherwise, a general thumbs-up from me. I liked the overall clarity of the layout - a definite improvement. Thanks to all concerned.
