Canon A490 Or GE Z150?

I bought a Canon A490 on special offer from Argos for £64.99, I am considering swapping it for a £79.99 GE Z150 which has: Image Stabilization, TV Output, 5 x optical zoom (Canon 3.3), Pan capture panorama & a few other things I don't see in the Canon specs.

I can't find any expert reviews on the web, so I would appreciate any opinions on which camera ultimately takes the better pic & is Image Stabilization really that effective or should I stick with the Canon?. Maybe someone could point me to an expert review.

I have never seen a full review of GE cameras, but there have been suggestions that their image quality leaves a lot to be desired. Stick with what you know, Canon make good cameras, I have had several over the past 10 years, and have never regretted buying into the marque. In fact, I bought two A480s when they were on offer at Argos last autumn for my granddaughters and they are very pleased with them.

Like Roy,I`m not aware of any reviews of GE cameras and would also recommend you stick with the A490.As for the lack of IS,invest in a gorillapod.

We have a number of Canon Powershots in the family going back 4 years and they all give excellent performance when judged against the corresponding competition. No way would I buy a GE camera in preference to a Canon.
(Collection in the family includes A410, A430, A510, A520, A540, A710 and G9)

After doing some more research I decided to keep the Canon & forum comments reinforced that decision. I'll get a Gorillapod as it will double as a pistol-grip. Thanks for the advice.
