IR film and a Trip 35

Will it be in focus at all? My head says no, but my heart wants to say yes.

I would think that the 35mm (?) would have sufficient dof to render the IR focus not too far out. How the selenium meter cell will like to be hidden behind an IR filter may be another matter!

40mm at f22 is it's deepest, and it'll be 1/40s whatever the lighting conditions.

What I didn't think about is it's low light mechanism that stops the shutter firing when it's too dark (ie: in your bag, or with the lens cap on), so an IR filter will probably upset that. Maybe a half press, and then putting the filter on?

You would need to use the aperture setting on the lens rather than leave it on "A" as you would for flash photography. This locks the camera to 1/40th sec shutter speed but disables the low light lock so the shutter will trip in any light. If you set a smallish aperture, the DOF should cater for the IR focussing difference.
Good luck finding a 43.5mm IR filter

I may be being dense/blind, but I cant see a 43.5mm stepping ring in either direction in that list! Though they do exist on other sites

I s'pose as IR film is a bit fuzzy anyway it won't matter if the filter is misaligned.
