Finally, I have finished my website......nearly.

    Hi All

I am near to completing my website and all comments are most welcome. I started with Joomla, then Drupal, before finally designing my own template for Wordpress. I find their image galleries much simpler to use.

    Thanks all for looking.

Re: Finally, I have finished my website......nearly.

Personally Id clear the front page of all the info and move it to an 'About' page that people can click if they want to, at the moment I dont see any pics on the front page as the one pic there hangs off the bottom of the screen.

When I click on a Category its very slow to come up and also to change photos which pop up *very* small, so small I can hadly see anything, and again there is so much stuff at the top of the page I cant see the pics without scrolling down. Im not sure what the calendar is there for...?

You have some lovely photos in there though, and making them so small and overrun by other site content spoils them I think. So Id keep the page simple, reduce the header and make the pics bigger. A fixed forward/back arrow is also better than one that moves with the size/orientation of the picture.

EDIT: I see you have an iPhoto style option in there but its not at all evident it is there at first, Id just make the pics bigger and easier to access to start with rather than making it this slow and tortuous to see the pics which themselves are great.

    Hi

Thanks for that. I know what you mean. I have been struggling with the whole idea of a design for a website, with somehow displaying so many photos.

It has been great finding this forum and getting useful information like that, as well as finding more inspiration.

Back to the drawing board for me.

    Thanks

    James

P.S. Website will be down today for tweaking.
