    Canon DSLR kit prices fall

For those of use who may be thinking of buying a Canon DSLR with kit lens in the near future, the Camera Price Buster website is showing more green labels (=Lowest Ever Price) than I've seen on previous visits. Not being an industry insider, I've no idea what this means, but perhaps there'll be some good bargains at Focus on Imaging next weekend?

Maybe they're trying to complete with the focus prices next week. I might be tempted by a 5D MkII if it's low enough next week.

I hope I'm wrong, but I've been to the last three Focus On Imaging shows and as yet have not seen any bargains. Certainly not at prices that you can find by searching the internet. The trade stands are the place where manufacturers let you examine the cameras and ask knowledgeable people questions. Then when you've made up your mind as to what you want, go home and search for the best price.

There were some good deals going last year for the 5D Mk II (body only +8GB Sandisk CF card for £1999), but by the time I got there, they'd all sold, and all I've got is a snap of the price-card and an empty shelf behind it on Jacob's display stand. I think Benchista was early enough to get one. Since then I've rarely printed to A3 so my 5D is doing OK.

A couple of years back I got an Eos 1D MkIII £400 cheaper than the high street/internet. Previous to this my 5D was around £150 cheaper.
