Re sigma 70-300 os for sony

This post is aimed at Laurence(SqueamishOssifrage):

    http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk.../page/0#845266

FWIW,when I checked in the local shop today the extremely knowledgeable staff, whom I`ve known for years, told me that
Sigma are NOT releasing a 70-300 with OS in Sony Mount since"Sony Dslrs have image stabilisation in body"
It seems only the non OS version is available.
May be worth checking with Sigma but I doubt these guys have got it wrong,

WTF are Minolta A mount film users to do then if this superb lens is not available to them?

In that case Roger I`ll remonstrate with he guy who told me that.
He said he got it from the Sigma rep

    Apologies to Lawrence for misinformation.
    Thanks for the link.

    Cheers
