    As this is nearly the end of February, I would take the press release "Due out the end of next month" to be the end of March. Pentax's website says it will ship in April..!! Knowing Pentax's history in predicting release dates I would not expect to see it on the shelves for a while yet.

    I see from the specification sheet that you can take SQUARE pictures with this camera. Is this a first, I cannot remember any other digicam giving this option?

    Many have that option, notably the GR series from Ricoh.

    Its only cropping. Memory is so cheap so why bother cropping on the spur of the moment in camera. I would prefer to capture as much as possible at the scene and think about cropping when there is time to think.

    Exactly. When shooting square it would be nice to have overlaid grid lines to show the area used, but why discard data at that stage. I often find that my square crops are slightly off centre, or slightly rotated.
