    Wacom tablet woes

Anyone on here having problems with their Wacom tablets. Mine worked fine then started to act badly. Plug it in to the pc the blue light would come on then turn off. Unloading and reloading software can help but is not the fix I'm looking for.
Up dated drivers don't help. I've checked the Wacom forums with no success, though there are lots of issues concerning various tablets.
Mine is an Intuos 3 a4 running on windows XP pro. I've found restoring to a previous date when it was working but that is not an ideal solution.
    Thoughts and advice much appreciated

Have you allowed XP to update itself recently? If it's working alright after a restore that might be because auto update has changed some key settings.

I never got the hang of my Wacom Pen Partner. I personally think it's crap.
Does the picture turn out differently than what you see in the viewfinder?

Most likely SP3 gave me problems when I had XP.

My Wacom tablet doesn't work at the moment either having spent ages researching methods and then programing the darn thing into my Ubuntu OS... only to have all that hard work ruined by an OS update Haven't got around to re-installing it yet!

My tablet is working again and this is without a system restore. On the Wacom forum someone suggested delaying the driver when the pc is starting up.
I'm not sure how that can be done. One thing I'm sure of is the tablet itself is fine. It's the wonderful world of drivers and possibly the registry that are the problem.

Right I've got rid of SP3 and reloaded SP2 installed security updates and touching my massive piece of wood. The tablet is working, at one time if I unplugged it and then plugged it back in. It would not work, well I've just tried it and woo hoo.
Just haven't let go of my massive piece of wood.
