Please help - two stupid questions about the GF1

    1. I have lost the disc that came with the GF1 and can't work out how to download the videos onto my Mac. Any ideas (I know I am probably just being stupid)?
    2. Is there a lens/adaptor I could get that would allow me to take photographs very close up - as in having the lens an inch or so from the subject as you can do with some bridge cameras. I have the GF1 with 14-45 kit lens and the 20mm 1.7.
Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Usually you can just plug in your USB lead into the camera and into the computer and the latter will just see the camera as an external drive. Alternatively you can remove the memory card from the camera and put that into a card reader that is plugged into the computer.

Your lenses take screw in filters, 52mm for the zoom and 46mm for the pancake. You can buy close up lenses that screw into these filter mounts. They come in various strengths (diopters) that will give you different degrees of close up.

    Thank you both.

I have the user manual - just not the drivers for Mac that allow you to down load the video.

I can see the files when I attach the camera/memory card - but the Mac doesn't recognise them. I presumed therefore that I needed something of the disc that came with the camera.

Oops - sorry, got the wrong end of the stick

Anyway, there's an article here (clicky) which discusses video recording on the GF1. Apparently there are two formats it can record in and it also suggests some players to recognise the formats. Maybe this will help.

Many thanks. I found out how to import with iMovie last night - but it seems a long winded process when I just want a video file.
