Your own custom Kiev 60/6C skin...

Just wondering if anyone tried to make their own camera skin, I am particularly interested to know, what kind of glue they would recommend. The leatherete on my Kiev is fine, just peeling at the corners a tiny bit and I have to say that I have seen a denim skin version and a black and white leopard print version and I liked it .

    Any thoughts, ideas, recommendations?

    Thanks.
    Regards,

Rubber solution, the sort that comes in cycle puncture repair kits (or used to). Sticks well but is not impossible to remove if required later.

I've replaced the covering on many cameras and used a variety of materials. I've found top quality double-side tape the best solution overall. My method is to cover the backside of whatever fabric I'm using with strips of the tape and then cut out the various pieces (using the original as a pattern). Peel off the remaining tape protection film and apply. It sticks very firmly but can if needed (in the future) be removed cleanly and even be stuck back again.
