    My website

I wondered what fellow photographers thought of my website. I have tried various settings and ended up with this one which has a slide show at the front - any comments or opinions would be most welcome

I seem to get several hits each day but would like to increase this - any ideas

    Hi David,
After an initial glance I would say that you have too much text on the front page - you really need to summarise that a LOT. Some of it could well be included in an 'about me' page perhaps. Also, check your typo's - 'although' is wrong on just the second line down.

With regards to your hit rating, you need to study Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) -this is a science in itself but there are some basic rules to follow - in particular your keywords meta-tags show 'wildlife' spelt wrongly and 'photography' appears twice. Actually individual words such as these are next to useless to get your site high in the Google ranking. Try to be more specific such as 'Nottinghamshire wildlife' or 'photographs of Nottinghamshire. If you can make your keyword phrases similar to what you think someone will key into Google then all the better.
There's an interesting article on SEO here (clicky).

    Hope this helps.

It's a bit difficult to give you feedback on a templated site from clikpic as it's a set of much used templates that don't really allow you to customise to any degree. You can't really have any input with regards it's look, build and functionality.

So, my feedback would be. Ah, yes... it's a clikpic site.

If you want feedback on your photos then post one or two of them in the Appraisal section. Full details on how to post images can be found HERE

Look forward to seeing some of your photos
