Wondering if I should have cropped the left side to get a bit more symmetry.

Well there is too much symmetry for me and I would have avoided that house at the left side. I suspect a pace to the left would have shut off that side and opened up the right a bit, which is far more interesting. Have tried to visualise that below.
The exposure has worked well, with no burn out, but it lacks a point of interest. A person would help a lot.

The shadows I think make this difficult. Maybe it would look better in B&W ?

Yes certainly, but still lacking a point of interest.

A half step to the right would improve the symmetry and a step backwards might hide the house from view. As said above, a person (or animal) somewhere might introduce a point of interest although I think it also works without one as an almost abstract image.

Thanks Mike and co for the tips. Its one marked up to hindsight im afraid unless I go back to Naples to try again

I like the crop but dont necassarliy agree it needs a person (or object) in there. For me the lines naturally draw the eye to the focal point in the middle, still it would have been nice if somebody had walked through just to see if it had worked

No problem. But it isn't just a crop, I extended the right side out a long way to try to replicate what a shot from further left would do.

On closer inspection I discovered there is a person in there! And a bin...

Could have wished for something more exciting , but good quality at that enlargement. Things like that do work well without people, but they tend to be a little more visually interesting as arcades.
