Doesn't time fly - now 6 months old.

Normally use flash off camera but decided to try the SB900 on the camera,flash is bounced off the ceiling and has the pop up bounce card raised

Cute family snaps. I think the second is the better of the two as it's always preferable to have eye contact in these types of shot and I think the all important focus on the eyes is better in the second example also. Another tip is to try and watch the background for distracting elements although I appreciate this is difficult in the environment of the home living room. That said, I'm sure either of these two images would please any family member receiving them because at the end of the day they're meant to be pleasing family snaps and not "works of art" and i think you have broadly succeeded in that task.
