Sound trigger to fire camera/flash

Have looked at some interesting images recently all done with electronic triggers.

Has anyone used/got/can recommend way of using them.
Looked at Maplins IR sound trigger at £12.99 ( http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=220033 ) but would still need to connect to camera/flash - no idea what else is needed at the minute so looking for help in this direction.

Have D300 with SB800/900

that link is not for a sound trigger! it's for an IR sensor that will detect something passing through it...

Try these people as they sell what you appear to be after and explain it all here

My apologies my question was not quite complete as I was lead to believe that the IR switch could be connected to a noise trigger that they also supposed to stock - but looking at the website I cannot find any such device.

What you need are one of these Delay kits one of Sound trigger this will allow you to trigger by sound only, but if you want to use a photogate light trigger as well? you will need one of these SPG1 But you need to check which unit you require ..as it depends what you're using it for!

Depending on your budget you could also try the all singing all dancing version....

I played around with some circuits a while back but in the end gave in a got one of these. They're a bit complex to set up but do the job once sorted.

Am a bit worried about connecting to modern speedlight SB900 or am I being paranoid?
