There's a synopsis with the monthly themes, look at it as a brief 'brief'!

    Good Luck

    Re: APOY 2010

Anyone with a mind to try and enter all categories of APOY this year, seeing yesterday's mag and theme's I might enter a few more myself this year.

I wasn't going to bother this year as I entered every round last year. Clearly my pictures were way better than any of the ones that won

When the magazine dropped through the door and I looked through the rounds I remembered the fun I had trying to get an image to fit each brief. So I'll probably go for it.

    Cheers

Yes, I didn't enter any last year, but think I might give it ago this year.

    It's all good fun innit!?

The 'big briefs' should go online sometime during the week in which they are announced in the magazine.

I've just taken a look - very good.

I'm not even bold enough to put mine online for fear of public ridicule.

Will try and enter each round though.

Funnily enough when I first entered a couple of years ago I had a goal of getting one pic published in the course of the the whole competetion. In my mind that meant one top thirty pic in all the ten rounds. I realise now that was maybe a tall order. Imagine my suprise when I achieved my goal with my very first entry ....... having it studied by Garry McNamara in his critical eye column. Not very complementary he was, not rude, but to the point. He was right of course, and I learned a lot from the experience.

I learnt a valuable lesson last year too, I entered my first picture in the last stages of the competition and got a second, the next month an entry made it to the top 50, 31 infact, so I'm obviously doing something right.

You dont have a chance unless you try.

    Good luck you lot

I don't like any of those songs, but the themes are pretty much the regular ones and open to very broad interpretation.

Thanks for the comments much appreciated. I stick my pics online so that they can gather comments. It's a learning process so if other people can look at my pics and then pass on advice it all helps.
