    TZ6 or TZ7

Hi everyone. I currently have a Nikon d60 slr but in the time i've owned it i've only used it 3 times. I'm not massively into photography but like to take pictures of my mountainbike and ski trips and all the other usual stuff!
I've decided a compact camera would be more suited to my needs as it's something i can stick in my backpack or pocket and use as and when i like.

I'd like something suitable for my mountainbike and ski photography. A couple of freinds of mine have cheaper panasonic lumix compacts and i find these quite nice to use and give some good pictures. I particulary like the burst function for skiing shots.

I've also been considering getting something with video capabilitys hence why i've had a look at the TZ7. Is the video function worth it? How does it compare to a dedicated hd camcorder or one of the newer micro hd camcorders?

    So basically:

-I'm looking for a camera to take good shots of mountainbiking (varied enviroments, some low light, (such as woodland) and skiing.
-I'd like a quick burst function.
-A camera that will fit in a pocket/small rucksack with ease.

If the TZ6/TZ7 suit these needs, is the HD video on the TZ7 worth it, are there any other differences?

Sorry for all the questions but i want to get this right!

    Hugh

    Re: TZ6 or TZ7

I needed something to replace a Ricoh R4 that had died and got a Pana TZ6. Didn't like it so I gave it to my son whose Canon S-something had stopped focusing and he didn't like it either. Problem is that it does what it wants to do rather than what the user wants it to do. That's OK for pure point and shoot people. Anyway I replaced it with a Fuji F72 which is more of a camera than an electronic gizmo but the video isn't special. I think you will have to go to something like the Canon G11 to get what you want.
