    Is it correctly labelled? 5200mm f/14 should have a clear aperture of 14.6" ....

    It looks a lot like commercial 12" Ritchey-Chretien telescope optics repackaged (probably a military special). And BTW it looks as though it's badly out of collimation.

    FYI a 14" f/10 SCT tube can be obtained, brand new on the UK market, for around the list price of Canon's 400mm f/2.8. The required adapters are "small change" and the lack of autofocus is moot at this focal ratio.

    Well out of my price, and carrying range!

    I did have a peek through Canon's current longest lens, the EF 800 f5.6L, at Birdwatch last summer. I think Jacobs demo'd it with a 2x on it.
    Last weekend I found that my EF 400 f5.6L used on my 30D was too long for good shots of the para gliders at Dunstable Downs.

    Canon bought one of those 1200mm lenses to focus a few years back, I had a quick look through it. Things seemed rather close, exactly what I was expecting!
