    Epson Perfection V300

Anyone use this scanner for slides and negs?I want to digitise my old stuff, well some of it and at the price it`s selling for these days I wondered how good it is.
My Pixma all in one won`t do it

Does no-one have an opinion on this scanner?

Is it worth the out lay of £70?

Hi Dave ... seems nobody's listening! I guess as in all things you get what you pay for, so when I recently bought my own scanner, I originally toyed with a V750 and a V700 (both rather more expensive than I really wanted to pay) but settled for a V500 in the end (£177.39 post paid from eBuyer.com - cheapest online a month ago). As far as I can tell it's an excellent scanner (I plan to do the same as you - scan darkroom photos and 35mm negatives) but that doesn't really help you with your deliberations over a V300! You could do a lot worse than Google 'Epson Perfection V300 Photo Reviews' and see what comes up, although you've probably already done that.

    Good luck with your quest!

I bought the Canon 8800F and it seems to be good even though I haven't done much with it as yet. Scanning is a whole new world for me and I have lots of old family photos that I would like to preserve for posterity. I am not sure why but I think it's important!

Hmmmm.......just checked out PC Advisor and it gets very favorable reviews.

I`ll have to think about it.

    Thanks for comments.
