Speaking of 'odd' replies, I thought 'beach' was a spelling mistake for 'bitc*' in Essex.

Posting a poll like that, something tells me someone will fit right in!

To be honest, I've neglected my mother county's beaches. I'm afraid the beach out past St Peter on the Wall on the Dengie is pretty dull. There's always the lighthouses at Dovercourt...

Will be any beach that has Smiffy and Nessa on it - not much room for anyone else but there you go!

I have a horrible, horrible, horrible feeling that that is a 'Gavin and Stacey' reference Peter, and if it is I can't tell you how far my opinion of you has plummeted, but to give you an idea, dig down to Australia and keep on going.

    Aren't who?

(Although I have a horrible feeling that one of them might be the friend of a friend of mine, but I suppose a job's a job...)

Interesting effect Barney - the diagonal lines of co-joined grumpies must have taken you hours

Peter, G&S is of the same level as "2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps" as in over hyped situation comedies without the comedy. What sets G&S apart is having James Corden, the single most unfunny man to currently have the audacity to call themselves a comic, which, to say that Lenny Henry is still knocking around, is some claim to fame. (Shazia Mirza holds the world undisputed title and will never, never never be challenged.)

The reason that G&S irks me so much, is that depsite it's comedic shortcomings it has no problem being recommissioned, whereas decent comedy series aren't. Take Sean Locke's "15 Storeys" for example, a series which the BBC never trailed and then failed to recommission depsite it being a) well received and b) actually funny.

Difficult. Define picturesque. Southend, if only because its where "the sea stays rock solid while the land goes up and down". Walton for the beach huts. St Osyth for the open space and the beach houses at Jaywick. Tollesbury for the marshes and sail sheds, Mistley for the river estuary and more boats than would fit in my lens.
    Regards,
    Martyn...
