    Black & White Printer

I will soon be buying a printer specifically for printing black & white images. The Epson Sylus Photo R2880 seems to get good reviews although it is a bit pricey for my budget. Can anyone suggest any others ?

If you are dedicating a printer to monochrome images it may be a good idea to check out the Lyson ink range, there are sets solely produced for this type of printing, choosing the printer to match the inks. These should give superior results to standard inks.

This is a good choice for monochrome. The Epson ink set contains several blacks, one that suits mat and one for glossy paper and two intermediate greys.
It is known to produce high quality monochromes with no colour casts.

For best results always use Epson ink, Epson Paper and profiles (supplied with the print driver). They are all made to work with each other and there is a good selection of papers.
