    Printer Head Cleaning

I'm new to digital printing using an older Epson 2100 printer. My problem is that the print heads are clogged for several colours and the printer print head cleaning routine does not clear the heads (even after 2 x 8 attempts). The Epson service web site recommends a cleaning process using Isopropanol Cleaning Solvent. However where can I purchase this? I've seen it referred to as Ispopropyl Alcohol and in the USA as Rubbing Alcohol. Camera shops / ink print suppliers all say that they cannot sell this as it is an alcohol based product for which a licence is required. Local chemists including large national companies do not stock it. It seems to be readily available in the USA but not the UK.
Any thoughts or alternative suggestions please.

    First, welcome to the forum.

You should be able to buy isopropyl alcohol from the chemist or from here:

The 2100 is a good printer and worth getting working.

Isopropanol or iso propyl alcohol (IPA) is available as a standard item from Maplins.

    Scroll down for IPA

More interestingly, concentrated hydrochloric acid is available from builders' merchants as Spirits of Salts, or brick acid. (Concentrated as in smoking HCl - I only saw this occasionally when working in a laboratory!) It has a miraculous effect on lime scale..., and burns your skin if you're not careful.

Please - not for cleaning your printer.
