OLympus pen EP-1 help needed

As a newbie on here I hope I am posting in the right place.
Santa was very generous this year and brought me an Olympus Pen EP-1. I have read somewhere that I can buy an adaptor that will allow me to use the lenses off of my Olympus E510 on it. Is this correct and could someone please tell me what adaptor to buy.
Many many thanks

There is also a Panasonic product Here that will work in exactly the same way (is probably made on the same production line) which has the reputation of beng slightly cheaper

Don't discount the Panasonic GF-1 whihc if you've already got Olympus lenses will work with the same adaptors. It's also available for only £399 at Mathers of Lancashire, a price so ridiculously cheap that I'm considering getting a 2nd body.

Hey Barney that's not fair I read the original post as saying that she has the EP1 already so you should not just tell her that she made the wrong choice.

Anyway the EP1 some advantages over the GF1 - for example it has in body IS which can be very useful, also the level indicator has got to be an advantage, I know it focuses slower than the GF1 but it can focus ALL the Oly lenses, even if slowly

Ooops!

That'll learn me to read the OP carefully.

Very true. In fact I've considered buying an EP-1 in addition to the the GF-1 to take advantage of the IS amongst other things. Still, the GF-1 is bluddy cheap!

Shona,

I should have said "welcome to the forum" Please pay no attention to Barney and me but do let us know how you get on with the new toy. I have not yet taken the plunge to get a mFT myself but I am sure that you will enjoy yours.

Barney,

Thanks for the link. I am following your experiences with interest but can not yet decide what mFT to buy, at the moment I lean toward the EP1 (with the zoom lens it's come down to reasonable prices) and might add the Pany f1.7 later - what really need is to pay more attention to the kit I have already. Perhaps there is just too much choice.

Hi Guys
and thanks for the welcome to the site.
Having looked at the price of the adapter I think I may have to work a few extra hours to pay for it
So in the meantime, will have to lug both cameras about with me.
Many thanks for helpful comments

Just checked that link again and the price has come down even more

It is still more than the EP1 if you need need a lens with it but if you already have the lenses, as you do

Roger!

I'd convinced myself that it's just plain daft having two of them and that the real cost would be far higher as I would have to have the Leica 45mm f:2.8 to go with it, but then I'm thinking that maybe the firmware update really does help manual focus enough for me to use it with just my Nikkor 45mm AF-P ...

The prices of both the GF1 and EP-1 are likely to be hit with the imminent arrival of the EP-2.
Waiting for this second incarnation of the digital Pen is going to cost me. I know that... And I don't care.
