No-the accessory shoe 1 is only suitable for the OM1-the OM1n needs a shoe 4 ( see here ) E-bay is probably the best place to look, but being cracked is almost normal as the shoes are really not strong enough for the load a flashgun imposes.

    Just like togs in general

Actually the problem with the Oly screw-on hotshoes is that cracks spread from the sharp corners inside where they fit over the pentaprism "hump" due to the fixing screw being overtightened. The corners should have been rounded to spread the stress instead of concentrating it. Usually the electrical connections work just fine despite the cracks, though a camera which has had its hotshoe removed for a long period may have corrosion on the contacts.

Expect to pay big money for an "uncracked" hotshoe, they're very rare ... and expect to find that a proportion of used hotshoes sold as "uncracked" actually bear cracks, when inspected with a magnifying glass.

The cracks form when the fixing screw is overtightened. Nothing to do with the load imposed by a flashgun.

The problem being that unless the screw is overtightened the shoe/flashgun assembly tends to wobble alarmingly when fitted with any but a tiny flashgun-and once the cracks start the wobbling gets worse necessitating more tightening to control it. Personally, I believe the cracks start as a result of side to side movement of the shoe with a gun fitted-and are then worsened as the owner tightens the screw in an attempt to control it!
