    Cheap film

Just wanted to gave a heads up Calumet is selling Kodak, and Fuji B&W slightly cheaper even than 7dayshop, and if you live close to a store you can order it for collection and not have to pay postage.

Cheers. Wonder if they've got Ektar 100 in? There's only one way to find out.

They don't seem to sell it in the UK and the Kodak neg film they do sell is really expensive.

Actually managed to get a roll of Ektar from my local dealer. Just road testing it at the mo. He charged me £6 odd for a 36 exp.

That's about twice what I paid at 7dayshop.

Life has its compensations though; a friend of mine ordered a brick of the stuff from 7day shop and gave me one (a roll of Ektar, that is). Sadly, because buying local can be prohibitively expensive, I too usually buy from 7Dayshop.

Mailshots have Ektar at £3.40, less for a 10 pack.

I've been getting my Reala from them with no problems at all.

    Re: Cheap film

Car boot sales are good places to look out for cheap film & chemicals. Last year I bought a couple of in date Ilford FP4 125 35mm film for £1. If you after colour 35mm film it is the cheapest place to get it in bulk, albeit expect it to be a tad out of date.

Typical finds have been twenty 35mm Kodak Max Versatility 400 costing £2.50 for the lot. The seller had them as part of a cheap camera set and was willing to sell the films separately. He put the cameras minus the films back on sale for 50p each. The same seller was willing to sell me thousands of these films at even more reduced rate which I might take advantage of his offer as he appears to given up trying to sell them and off load the lot on ebay. I also bought a carrier bag with assorted films for a total cost of 50p from memory there was about thirty films. Anyway at a normal car boot you might find a few films going from 25p-£1 or as part of a camera deal. I always ask them if they will sell the film and offer them 20p.

What is happening is people are going digital and offloading their old stuff at car boots. Last year my best buy was £2 for a Olympus XA camera boxed as new complete with a rare A16 boxed flash. It was the second XA in a week for £2
