    Disappointed with Lumix TZ6

Hi, I bought a Lumix TZ6 on the strength of good reviews,
But I must say I’m disappointed with the picture quality,
My initial impression when I first held the camera, was, this looks the business, it had quality written all over it, I have Fuji F30 and in my honest opinion the F30 takes better photos, I have Lumix set on iA setting most of the time, the indoor pictures taken with the lumix TZ6 without a flash are no were rear as good as the Fuji F30, it maybe its just me, I like to hear your views

You won't find a better 6 MP compact camera than the F30 (or F31). The TZ6 has more megapixels and a much wider zoom range. TZ stands for "travel zoom" and that's what it does best. Just a point and shoot but useful. I have one and I'm not wild about it either.

The F30 will outdo the TZ6 for low light shots as it had a much larger sensor. If you wanted a camera specifically for low light then I would have gone for the G10 with its larger sensor.

However, if you want a long zoom compact then the TZ6 is a good all rounder

Let the images speak for themselves ZS1 USA = TZ6 EU

With my TZ7 I always carry a pocket tripod and use it up against pillars or walls etc for low light shots.

I use a TZ7 (same sensor, etc) at work, and full-size images show significantly more fine detail than from a F30, at comparable focal lengths and exposure ... at ISO100. As the ISO is increased the Lumix loses detail rapidly: it appears to employ slightly more (or at least, different) in-camera processing than the F30, which becomes more apparent above ISO 100. The IQ at 25mm isn't particularly good (IMO), but at 35mm (equiv) it's somewhat better than the F30 in many real-world daylight photos. If the TZ7 had some better features I'd buy my own (though not a TZ6).

Thanks for for comments, I'll keep the camera for a little longer, and see how I get on with it, but I certainly wouldn't sell the Fuji F30, best compact I've every had,
secondhand F30 are going for £150+ ebay now.
