As of 30 minutes ago ...

... I can now post in here as a Panasonic owner, my GF1's arrived and battery is currently on charge.

Battery should be charged in time for a late lunch so I think I'll wrap up warm and go out for a wander with my new toy.

    Yep!

I've got a Novoflex adaptor on order to put my Nikkor 45mm f:2.8 on for a portrait lens, but the 20mm will be the lens of choice for the majority of the time.

First impressions are good, but then I only managed to pop out quickly at lunchtime and it was a horrible drich day up here. I might work from Leeds tomorrow though just to give myelf the chance to play at lunchtime.

Congratulations! My GF1 is loving its Voigtlander 21mm but it's only F4 so if your 20mm is really good I might start saving for the extra two-and-a-bit stops.

You've had a few days with your new toy now.

How's it going? Living up to expectations?

And how does it feel with your Nikkor lens mounted?

    Did you see this website?

See? Nice camera hey? I'm jealous now. I'm using the G1 still - better viewfinder etc, but I want the ability to shoot square. I asked Panasonic Japan last week if they'd make a firmware update for me. The chap kinda said yes, but I'm not sure whether he was just being polite or not. You never know!

    Great stuff Barney.

Nice? It's stunning. I am seriously impressed. I was more than happy with it anyway, but when I posted my shots on my brother-in-law's 60" TV screen I was blown away by the quality, not just in the still images, but the video too.

If you're putting requests in to Panasonic, could you ask for a firmware upragde which would give a distance scale on the screen when manually focusing please? That's my one gripe, but it's a minor one to be honest.
