E-510 battery all of a sudden finished..??

Just wondering if anyone has any information or knowledge about how long the camera battery life might be?
Have not had mine for any significantly long time but just realized the other day that after charging it properly, took it out and showed me red sign already and after few odd pictures was compeletely empty..!!
And i have made sure i don´t charge it when its half full or empty and as far as i remember, have not had it charging for too long either..

    Any ideas?

Had a look on ebay already if needing to get a new one..there are some you can get even for a £5, i would not get tricked by buying one of them..? Just imagined they might be more costly, but obviously not complaining if that is a decent one for just that amount!

I've used a 7dayshop branded battery as a spare for my D70 and have had no problems with it. This is a link to what I hope is the correct one for your camera.

I hve three Uniross batteries equivalent to Olympus BLM1 from Battery Logic. I read a test revue somewhere which found that, if anything, they were slightly better than the Olympus ones. My experience, after 3 years, would agree with that.

Ditto - I swop one of these in my E510 (one in charger - the other in the camera) and I really can not spot any difference between the original and the cheapo

I can vouch for the Uniross version.

    Here

Must have read the same reviews, I have 2 and have not had a single problem.

Seems odd that the Oly battery has died so quickly though.
    Thanks

Today had another look at my camera and to my suprise realized there were lots of plain black images..!! I am hoping that i´ve just been silly and forgotten to switch the camera off and whereever i have had the bag something been going against the shutter button and "taking photos" and hopefully that would explain the dead battery.
Have it charging now to see if that could be true..!!

    I may have done similar...

In preparation for a day at Stourhead, I loaded a fresh film and put the camera in the bag all ready for an early start in the morning. Sure enough, on arrival, I took the camera out for a shot of the house before heading off through the grounds and had managed to fire all 36+ shots and rewind the film in the bag. Fortunately, I had plenty of spare in the bag with me.

Hope that's your problem sorted but a spare battery might be a good idea anyway - maybe something to ask the fat bloke in the red suit for?

does your camera not have power down facility...after say oneminute of non-use it turns itself off. I know they can be customised for different lengths of time...might help the battery last a little bit longer
