    ffb fault

    Since joining this forum I have been made aware of a possible fault with my Minolta 5d.It's called the ffb and I really want help.What is the fault and PLEASE WHAT SERIAL NUMBERS ARE AFFECTED? Thanks in advance.

    No need to shout

    I think you'll have to contact Sony Customer Services about it. Apparently it's easily fixable. Although a lot of people tend to ignore it from what I've read.

    what you are referring to is commonly called `first frame black`, its where the first image taken is totally black, and after that you should get normal images.


    Some people have been known to have this issue a few times,but I have only had this happen just the once on my 7d,and I am not to concerned about it.

    Thanks to you both,If thats all it is ,I don't believe I'll loose much sleep,my camera was bought just before Minolta packed up.

    I do believe though, that it can still be sorted under warranty as a `known problem`

    I've spoken to some really nice people at JP and I was told that if my 5d develops the ffb fault, it will be repaired with no charge.These are the same people who replaced the sensor in my A1 also free.Sony are keeping their promises.

    Thats good to hear, if my 7d gets ffb again I may just get it sorted..............
