    Lightroom 2.5 & Olympus

Yesterday I tried Lightroom 2.5 with raw images from my E520 & E500. On several images strong magenta lines appeared in the sky area, mainly after using the recover highlights setting. Once they had appeared, they also showed in Camera Raw in CS3.The only way to clear them was to completly uninstall Lightroom and all associated folders, including the library, and reinstall Lightroom 2.4. These images have been on the computer for one to three year and have never shown any problem.
Today I tried the trial version of Elements 7, preparing a talk for our club, and installed Camera Raw5.5 which immediately showed the same problem. Reverting to ACR 5.1 cured it. So it appears that there is a bug in the ACR engine, probably only affecting ORF files. (they wouldn't get away with it in Canon or Nikon).
It would be interesting to know if anyone else experiences this problem. For now I'm sticking with Lightroom 2.4 and ACR 4.6 in CS3.

Sounds like you have a PowerPc Mac.

It is a problem that Adobe have admitted to.

Also applies to Sony, Panasonic and others

Thanks for that link Ian, those are exactly the symptoms I found, and the cure is exactly what I did. However it is not only on Macs, as Adobe state, as mine is a quite average PC running WindowsXP SP3 which I assembled about 5 years ago.
    Thanks again, John
