    Jurassic Coast - a question

I've got a couple of days booked with SWMBO in Burton Bradstock during November. Assuming the weather is on my side, can anyone please suggest good places for me to accidentally discover my tripod when she's not looking?

Lyme Regis should probably be high on the list. Quite a few shops for the wife to spend your money in, and a small drying harbour with its famous "Cob" sea-wall for you.

If you walk along the shingle beach to the west of the harbour, there's some monster fossils to be seen among the rocks, though depending on how far you go, some awareness of the local tide times might be useful.

Of course, closer to BB would be West Bay (with the town of Bridport close by to leave your wife spending even more of your money} which also has a small harbour, though not so pretty as Lyme.

A bit closer still is Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast, with good views to both east and west if you're in landscape mode. Just off the A35 before you reach the village of Chideock theres a turning to the left (which gets very narrow) that takes you to a NT car park (pay and display), and from there it's about a half hour walk.

Loads more to choose from, but those three spring to mind as closest.

<edit> If you do go to Lyme Regis, park in the car park on the A3052 (on the western side of the High Street) rather than down near the Cob. £1 all day compared to something like £1 an hour.....

I'm puzzled. How can she be spending my money if she's on the beach testing the tides for me?

Thanks for the great suggestions though!
