    Mamiya Press

Surprised I couldn't find any posting on Mamiya Press, or am I missing them? I've noticed prices have gone up considerably over the past couple of years; does this mean they're only bought by collectors now, not users? I think if they're good enough for Charlie Waite they're good enough for me. So, anyone know where I can get a service manual for the Seikosha shutters in my 50, 65, 100 and 150 Sekors, and anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced place to service?

Many thanks. This is great and the stage by stage pix are superb. I'm going to make a start with my 150mm Sekor, which is the least useable, and if I succeed with that I'll have the confidence to tackle one of the others. If not I'll still be looking for a good service shop! By the way, the links on the site were also very useful and answered another intended future question about fixing the bellows on my pre-war II 6x9 Super Ikonta. Thanks a lot again.

    Re: Mamiya Press

I have the Mamiya Press Super 23 bought from Pelling & Cross,London in 1967- I debated whether to get that or the Koni Omega rapid-- but as there was no Purchase Tax on thr Mamiya as it was classed as 'Professionals only'and the Koni was 'Amateur' it saved the 60% tax ! I was in University College London as a scientific photographer at the time and belonged to the College Photographic Society and the Society had a 'Professional Account' with Pelling & Cross so I got extra discount, and the Pound was strong against the Yen -- so I got the body,100mm f3.5,65mm f6.3,150mm f5.6 two 6x7 and one 6x9 back all for about £127!
Got COMPUTERISED at last and now Digitised but FILM still RULES!
