    Isle of Lewes (Outer Hebrides)

    Hey! 1st post.

Well, I'm planning on taking a trip (about 2 days) to the Isle of Lewes. My plan is to hike it to Loch Scarabhat Mhor (about 7 miles) for some great photo opportunities and then to Loch Breibhat and finally to Loch Urghag and then back to the airport to depart.

I'm going in February so obviously it'll be pretty cold, apart from the usual things like compass, warm gear etc, is there anything I need to make sure I bring, apart from my lenses and a waterproof housing for the Camera!?

    Thanks in advance!

"Isle of Lewes", where's that then?

    Would that be Eilean Leòdhais?

I'm intrigued by your chosen places for your visit. If you take the time to ascend Beinn Bharabhas (Barvas Hill, and no more than a hump at 280m) you can see my house from there.

Whilst I agree with Nick's comment about not being red hot in August, it's pleasantly warm enough, May and June are the best months to visit. It may NOT be as cold as you think in February (we don't get many frosts over here and very little snow), but IT WILL BE WET AND WINDY.

If I can be of any help at all, or answer any specific questions, then please feel free to send me a PM.

in the meantime, I certainly hope you enjoy your trip.

Go to a nearby golf club and get some sachet handwarmers. They last a good few hours and are a must for keeping your hands from freezing up if its damp as well as cold. Good luck!
