Yet another nice one RichardAre you using fill-in flash at all?
Yes, beautiful clarity and colours. A good shot!
A great shot of one of my favourite birds.![]()
Another nice shot Richard, there must be a shortage of these around here, unless they disguise themselves as sparrows![]()
Your welcome to try your luck here next time you are down this way![]()
Hi Richard,

Thanks Lisa. I have three feeder holders set up with 9 feeders; 1 home-made fat block, 2 niger, 2 black sunflower, 3 crushed peanut, 1 mixed seed and three trays with a mix of things. On one of the feeders I've attached a couple of old branches using wire, in the vertical one I've drilled holes in the back and insert peanuts.
I then shoot through a gap I've created in the hedge. The feeder is placed so that the background is the trees on the other side of the valley.

Patience Richard - everything comes etc. This little hen perched right by me as I was sitting on a bench last week. It's funny, we don't get any sparrows in the garden, I'd love to photograph one.

My memory is getting worse . . . and my conscience clearer
An excellent pic Richard. We get flocks of sparrows descending on the shrub roses in the garden, presumably after aphids.
BTW,it occured to me that,as the crow flies,it can`t be more than 30 miles or so from Swansea to Hartland where you live.Pity you can`t just nip across
maybe I could get a bridge built.![]()

Thanks for the info Richard.
I've got something similar without the branches and I've also got some feeders in an apple tree. I think I need to put them all together and attach branches. The somewhere to hide is going to be a problem though.Lisa.
