    I actually think the country ( UK) itself is our national treasure.

    The truth is that chips/French fries/pommes frites adapt themselves very well to a number of condiments and the choice of combination is very regional, and it must be said that it is very hard to find a combination that doesn't work.
    So, in fact, chips/French fries/pommes frite are a wonderful, versatile, magical food!!!! They certainly can't be claimed as a national treasure of any one specific country, but rather the 8th/9th/10th/whatever WONDER OF THE WORLD!!!!!
