Evening all.....
Does anyone know if there is a tool on Elements 6 that will let me keep the main subject in colour but make the entire background black and white. Apologies if this is a really stupid question, but I am very new to this....

Nope. You have to do it by hand. The software can't tell what is the main subject and what isn't.
Do a google for "Colour Popping" and "Elements 6" and you should find tutorials for the effect
