    Infrared photography

I see there are several people advertising conversions of digital cameras for IR photography - but does anyone know of any cameras available specifically built for IR? I dont happen to have a spare one lying about for conversion right now!!

The only ones available off the shelf have been the Fuji offerings, but it's much cheaper to buy a s/h DSLR and have it converted even if you could track one of them down. Alternatively, the Sigmas have removable IR-blocking filters.

The other option is to throw your camera away and take up knitting

Not quite true, there are a few specialist cameras sold mostly into the foresnsic market (where ultraviolet response is also valuable - not an earthly of doing that with normal cameras & lenses, as optical glass is essentially opaque to UV) but the price tags are silly.

As Nick suggests, buy a s/h Canon 30D or 300D and get it converted.

Wasn't a D70 pretty good for IR with an appropriate filter? something to do with its own filter letting more IR in than others?
    BSRIPN (Officially full of it..)
