Canon G9 wont turn on???

Hi, I have a Canon G9 which is still under warranty. Recently the image sensor died and Colchester cameras put it right for me.
Today, completely out of the blue, the camera shut down and ,as I was using it remotely, a screen popped up saying the battery was dead so lost communication. I charged the battery up until the green light came on but on inserting the battery the camera is completely dead. I did notice that when I put the battery on recharge it remained orange(charging) for a while before going green(charged) again. Is this a battery issue or a camera issue anyone know or had the same problem?

Sounds like you have been unlucky; best to return camera and battery to Colchester for another warranty repair. If you do not have a second battery it will be difficult to check and see if it is that, or the camera itself, that is faulty.

I have the same problem. The G9 (which I love) just packed up on the weekend. Completely dead. It's out of warranty so I took it to a local repairer. The guy said it was probably a screw loose inside that has shorted one of the components. He showed me that the strap holder was a bit loose and said that one of the screws has been rattling around inside. £85 plus parts to fix. So beware the tell tale signs. Shame the strap holder doesn't have external fixings...
