    B.Minolta Dynax 40

Having just purchased the above, with 28-100 kit lens,I thought I`d share my first impressions. This is the first AF SLR I have ever owned and it`s been a revelation in its apparent complexity and,at the same time, it`s ease of use.
I`m amazed how quickly it snaps into focus and the fact that everything is controlled by a button or a wheel.
I can see only two negative things about it:
    1.No DOF preview.
2.No distance scale on kit lens, nor manual focus, making differential focus impossible.
I know that the 2nd point can be overcome with other lenses and that is something to aim for as and when I can afford it.
Overall I`m very happy with it,especially its near mint condition and the fact that it cost ONLY £14.99.It`s opened up the SLR world once more and I`m loving it.

    Re: B.Minolta Dynax 40

It was one of the last bottom of the line low end SLR's that were released, very light and automatic, it was also the first modern SLR I got my hands on after I had already got into photography, and I was surprised to me it was like handling a digital camera with a film transport mechanism, I had no idea they had made a film camera so complex, I bought one later to play with but I didn't keep it for long.
